A Study on influences of urinary incontinence on quality of life


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the general characteristics of women having urinary incontinence (UI) and to identify the influences of UI on quality of life of them in an island.
For data collection, subjects were interviewed with structured questionnaire.The data were analysis with descriptive statistics. The results were summarized as following The distribution of age of participations was as following. 20-39(32.3%), 40-59(40%), 60-(27.7%). The rate of the unlettered were 75.4% of participations. In term of frequency of delivery, 1-2(35.4 %), 3-4(32.3%), 5-(32.3%). The subjects had have experience of abortion experience were 53.8%.
Urinary incontinence is a common health problem for adult women. And the symptoms of UI are causes of discomfort, shame, loss of selfconfidence and result in sufferers to withdraw from socia;, life. But, many do not report this problem until they have had the symptoms for a long time. So` Nursing protocol for assessment, treatments, educational programs should be implemented in primary care setting
